Amidst the worry about more robots taking more working class jobs, an AI bot has just taken a big step to taking white collar jobs. An AI bot called ROSS is now available for legal firms. Lawyers have incredible research tasks that are also mind-numbing, and therefore inefficient. ROSS listens to the pertinent question and far more rapidly and methodically conducts the research. Lawyers continue to be necessary to understand strategy, insights, and implications, but the number of entry level jobs just shrunk. Ideally, the cost of hiring a lawyer could also shrink. Ironically, this first application is for bankruptcy cases where costs and money are key to the conversation.
