Other countries have reached periods when renewable energy has exceeded their electricity consumption. The US is broken into three main grids. The grid that covers Montana to Texas reached 52.1% on February 12th from wind power. That greatly exceeds the target of 25% from ten years ago. The record was set for a short time, but it is a key step to proving that renewable energy is also reliable. One advantage in the US is the breadth of environments, weather patterns, and the size of the grid. When one place is calm, another may be very productive. The trend is expected to continue, and to be added to when solar and other sources are included.
