Good news:
“The US economy added 292,000 jobs in December, exceeding expectations, while the unemployment rate remained steady at 5%, the US Department of Labor announced on Friday.” – Guardian
Bad news:
“Wages remained little changed in December.” – Guardian
As a previous report showed, increased jobs with no increase in wages while in the presence of income inequality means jobs with higher wages are getting raises while lower wage jobs are seeing cuts. More people are working, but that doesn’t mean they’re getting ahead.
