As if it wasn’t sad enough that only 8% of Americans have confidence in the US Congress, Americans now think that the majority of people in Congress are corrupt and concerned more with special interest groups and money than with their constituents. Incumbency is institutionalized in Congress, but that relies on appealing to a constituency that trusts them. Now, almost a third (32%) of constituents believe their local Congresspeople to be corrupt.
