Early Spring

An early Spring sounds like a good thing, but it is a quantifiable indication of a warming planet. At least ten cities in the US are experiencing enough climate change to shift plants’ reactions about 14 days earlier. In 173 cities the freeze-free season is about 21 days longer. While this sounds welcome it is also affecting natural growth patterns and causing farmers to change or abandon their agricultural practices. The trend is expected to continue.
