If you feel stressed, know that you are not alone. In the US, 27% of adults feel that they are too stressed to function. The list of reasons is basically the list of topics in the headlines. Climate, politics, human rights are all examples of stressors. The report didn’t compare pre-social media to post-social media results, so social media can’t be conclusively blamed. Regardless of the cause, a 27% reduction in workforce effectiveness represents a significant economic impact, as well as a significant opportunity. The topic, however, does not seem to be drawing as much attention as it could. Perhaps this is a reason for the Great Resignation and Quiet Quitting trends? The result is measurable in the American Psychological Association’s poll. What to do about it wasn’t specified.
