Robots now work in hotels. Rather than pay some bellcap to run up to your room with a bit more soap or such, robots are now available that can carry small items to guests freeing employees from menial (though tippable) tasks. The application is not radical, but it is an example of the quiet intrusion of automation and job shifting in yet another service industry. Robots aren’t just for the factory anymore.
