Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to mature. Computer-enabled trading has been active for decades, and has grown more sophisticated. The two have now met in an artificial intelligence that is trading. AI has been operating our machinery, picking the songs we hear, and playing against us in games. Computerized trades have dramatically changed the nature of investing, particularly short-term trades, but it was driven by human-built models and strategies. AI is now doing the trades independently, adapting to conditions without human input, but (ideally) benefiting its investors. As in all competitions, there will be competitors. Given the nature of AI evolution, none of the AIs will be exactly the same. AIs will be competing with AIs in the same marketplace that is populated by people. Investing could become very different – yet, again.
