Gallup conducted a survey of companies that are hiring and firing by talking to the employees. The number of companies growing is about 42% and the number of companies shrinking is about 11%. The positive gap of 31% is about the same as previous months, and is continuation of a positive trend that bottomed at -5% in 2009. The employment gap remains at about 2,000,000; so the growth must continue if jobs are expected to recover to 2007 levels.
