A poll of Americans on six topics found that except for their views of technology and diversity, Americans are increasingly pessimistic about America’s future. Even diversity is a split. There is a majority that is optimistic, but it is not a large majority. Education and the impacts of an aging population are cause for pessimism; but there’s greater pessimism based on how people see power being mis-used. Both corporate and government leaders are seen as causes for concern about America’s future. Only 29% believe corporations are improving the future, and only 19% believe government is improving the future. Smartphones are great. Diversity is shifting to positive. But the rest are worrisome.
