The Digital Singularity that we could witness could happen within only a few minutes. It may take more. It may take less. It might also begin in sporadic events – as was demonstrated by a robot that corrected itself based on knowledge it had to generate about itself. Such events can seem trivial, just like the first emails seemed to be of limited usefulness. The frequency is increasing.
