Blemishes happen. It hasn’t been until recently that we’ve expected every fruit and vegetable to be totally blemish free. About 30% of our food is wasted, sometimes merely because it has a spot. A growing movement is making this food available for folks who care more about nutrition than temporary appearances. Inglorious food in France. Naturally imperfect food in Canada. We get cheaper food. The stores have fewer losses. Less food ends up in the land fill. Farmers can sell more of their crop. It works well for everyone, especially after you realize that blemishes are natural.
