Do you remember when people made fun of solar?
“Overall, solar generated over 2,700 terawatt-hours last year, more than double its output from three years earlier. It now accounts for over 8 percent of the world’s total electricity production.“
Despite politics, rhetoric, and idealogies, solar continues to gain because of practical matters like cost, reliability, and versatility. Places that couldn’t have power are now more likely to generate electricity via solar panels. That isn’t news to many, but a few prominent few prefer to live in a past that relied on fickle, dangerous, and non-renewable sources. Is our society growing up? Potentially. Is it happening soon enough? Debates won’t tell us. History will.
