Air wells do not collect air. In arid environments, air wells use a variety of channels and passive mechanisms to encourage water vapor to condense from fog, mist, and almost any humidity. The idea is ingenious and ancient. New technology and design methods update the concept. A 30 foot tall bamboo well can produce about 25 gallons of water a day. That may not be extreme, but it is free and vital.
