Cars, trucks, and highways are carrying enough sensors to have conversations amongst themselves about the most efficient way for everyone to move. For now, a few places are providing rich information for the drivers. Japan already does it. Europe is doing so multi-nationally. The US electronic message boards aren’t even close, and may not catch up until after Congress authorizes enough funding for basics like potholes and bridges. Include autonomous autos and “leave the driving to us” may not just be a bus motto. Efficiency improved. Personal autonomy diminished.
