Some feel that a Green Economy can only happen with a reduction in the economy. The UK has been proving that wrong. Carbon emissions are down to the level they were in 1888, yet the economy is growing. Even despite Brexit, the UK economy is up ~20% in last decade while CO2 emissions are down 29%. The big benefits have come from switching from coal to other sources for electricity generation. The improvements are limited because decreasing the use of coal has limits. It is impossible to decrease coal use by more than 100%. There’s plenty of work to do, but the UK has proved that switching from fossil fuels works.
