Simple can be best. In the fight against antibiotic resistant diseases, many methods have been tried. It turns out that something as simple as making doorknobs out of salt kill off bugs like MRSA by 94% in a minute, more than 20 times faster than other approaches. Good news can arrive that’s simple, uncomplicated, and readily available. It will be interesting to see how quickly doorknobs are replaced in places like hospitals, clinics, and doctors’ offices – and whether the same idea works in homes, too.
