It is now possible to trigger, and possibly create, memories. Individual neurons can be made light sensitive. When illuminated, the brain can remember those memories. This has only been done on lab animals, so far. The positive implications are treatments for memory related mental disorders. The eerie implications are the possibilities for creating false memories.
