Cyberwarfare is developing far faster than people’s awareness of it. Attacks make occasional headlines, but any call to limit the attacks, prepare better defenses, or retaliate is primarily happening within the IT world. If physical military attacks happened with the same frequency and impact, we could consider ourselves to be in the third world war. The threats are real, and the impacts are real; but because the battles are silent and sometimes only understood by few witnesses, a war involving governments, corporations, and everyone’s information continues without expectations of peace talks or negotiated settlements.
