Solar power costs continue to fall, and probably will continue falling for years or decades. In the sunniest places, solar is already cheaper than new gas installations. Within the next five years, that will probably be true for average solar installations. At this rate, in about ten years, 10% of global power can come from solar, and the price by mid-century could be as low as $0.02/kwh. Renewables were a hope ten years ago. As more as installed, the price drops have accelerated beyond most estimates. Technology plus market forces are power collaborators.
