For urbanites, climate change is largely inconvenience, nuisance, and a reason to not buy waterfront. For farmers, climate change changes everything. They can’t move their land, so they have to change what and how they farm. The regions that may see the most dramatic shifts are regions that had short growing seasons. Small changes in climate are creating big changes in Canada where the growing seasons are lengthening. Corn, soybeans, apricots, grapes are all becoming more viable. Canada has always been rich in resources, and has lots of farms, but now the farms may provide an even larger opportunity.
