Offshore fish farming is different than cattle ranching. If cattle break through a gate, you can find them again, and they haven’t had sex with the locals. Fish escape from farms, can’t be retrieved, cross-breed, and pass along farm-born pathogens. With over-fishing of the oceans, fish farming may be required to grow; but the technologies are maturing, and remediation methods must be developed. There’s more work to do.
