Wave and tidal power don’t receive as much attention as solar and wind, but the price for ocean energy is coming down, too. Two key benefits are that: 1) 80% of the US power is used by coastal states, and 2) ocean energy can produce 1,170 TeraWatt-Hours/year out of the US’s power requirement of 4,000 TeraWatt-Hours/year. Ocean energy is more predictable than solar and wind, and, obviously, takes up less land. The key enablers are technology and infrastructure development. Solar plus wind plus ocean plus geothermal drastically reduce the US need for fossil fuels.
