July 22, 2024 was the hottest day ever. OK. Maybe there were hotter days before humans evolved (and are we evolved) but July 22, 2024 was the hottest day for the planet since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. So far. That news is a singular event, worrisome independent of other trends, but it has its own trend. We now expect such records to be regularly broken. The reasons have been posted frequently. There will be reason to post the same thing again. But, for now, the planet exceeded 17C, an acceleration from the recently accelerated trend.
