Simply said, the more people, the more problems. While more people also means more innovators, without sufficient innovations, there will eventually be insufficient resources. The current estimate is that the population will reach 11,000,000,000 by the end of the century. By some estimates, the planet could reliably sustain about 2,000,000,000. Innovations have made it possible for 7,000,000,000 to be alive today, but strains are showing.
