Golf courses that try to mimic Scotland without Scotland’s climate require deforestation, or massive irrigation, or both. The environmental impact of golf courses can be enormous – and that can be true in a good way. A golf course is a business, and some businesses fail. The properties already contain some infrastructure, and some are close to population centers. Turning negatives into positives.
