Researchers are beginning to understand the role of the bacteria and such in our intestines. Since they were discovered we’ve become familiar with their role in digesting our food. Their influence is greater than that. Some of the side effects of their digestion create familiar digestive issues. Flatulence, anyone? We’re now becoming aware that the byproducts also affect other aspects of our health, both physical and mental. Some of those byproducts and actions could provide clues to eating disorders. Some of those byproducts are hormonal, and could provide links to mood swings and mental health disorders. What we eat, and what lives inside us can be strong medicine; but first we have to understand it.
