Colony Collapse Disorder may not be as worrisome as it was, but other ailments are hurting hives to a significant extent. Up to 42% of the colonies kept by beekeepers were lost in the last year. Mites are one enemy, but don’t explain all of the losses. Bees, yet again, have yet another unknown enemy. Our crops are threatened, and doubly so in areas experiencing drought.
