Regardless of wages, US productivity has been increasing for years. Much of the credit was given to the introduction of computers, automation, and accelerated communications. The trend, however, is slowing, may represent a halt, and may turn negative – and already has. Increased productivity may require increased training because newer technologies are more complicated and advanced. The easy increases are over.
