Greenhouse gases were up again in the US. A recovering economy and a cold east coast winter produced 2% more greenhouse gases than the year before. The slight slump in emissions prior to that may be from the Great Recession. As renewables create more electricity, can they counteract a recovery’s pollution? The 2014 numbers aren’t available yet, but may tell the trend.
