Last year the West Antarctic Ice Sheet was found to be melting far faster than expected. The projected sea level rise, more than 10 feet. This year the East Antarctic Ice Sheet has been found to be doing the same thing. The projected sea level rise, even greater. Basic math, add them up, and get a conservative estimate of more than 20 feet of sea level rise within the next several decades. A bit more bad news, this is enough mass to shift the gravitational influence of the Southern Hemisphere, which has pulled down on the Northern Hemisphere oceans, but won’t any longer, so the sea level rise in the Northern Hemisphere will be worse. The best hope is a tremendous amount of snow.

Not sure this doesn’t warrant a bit of panic!
