Sardines sit in the middle of the food chain. They eat smaller things. They are small things that we and other animals eat. Either because of overfishing, a decline in their food supply, or something else we haven’t discerned, the population has dropped about 80% since 2007. Bad for the fishing industry. Possibly a signal of something bigger.
