Follow the money, and the money is beginning to flow away from coal. Major investors who invest for the long term are drawn to renewable energy rather than depleting fossil fuels. Politics and advocacy play a role, but when investors change, industries change without parades and posters, or new laws and regulations. Less money for coal and more for solar empower innovation in solar and undermines coal (pardon the pun.)
