Global climate change frequently refers to the rising sea levels. The land is affected too. Glaciers are heavy. As they melt, the land rebounds. It is a small effect on continents, though North America continues to rise from the retreat of the last Ice Age. It is a large effect on small, icy island like Iceland. Glacial melting may also less stable land to rise and shift, like volcanoes and mountain ranges. We may find that volcanoes were kept from erupting by glaciers that acted as corks. We may find that earthquakes are unleashed as large dampers are removed. Climate change changes the land.
