New businesses are more effective at creating new jobs and introducing innovations. With fewer newer businesses, older businesses rise towards monopolistic, and can institutionalize inefficiencies. Two key contributors to new businesses are easing immigration and making health care more accessible. Immigrants are known for entrepreneurship. Employees are less likely to leave jobs with benefits if they think they can’t get them privately. The topics are in debate, but rarely with the emphasis on encouraging American entrepreneurship. If the policies don’t change, the trend won’t either.
