Cars and guns are tied to many deaths. Any other threat to tens of thousands of lives would be met with outrage and action. Licensing cars is taken for granted. Licensing guns is met with amazing ideologies. Thanks to technology and less acceptance of drunk driving, car deaths are decreasing. Gun deaths will soon be worse than car deaths. Gun deaths are already worse in one way. Most gun deaths are suicides. Rather than protect the gun owner, too many owners use the guns against themselves. Autonomous cars may reduce car deaths further. Nothing seems to be stopping the gun deaths.
