Between where we are now and some versions of the Digital Singularity where we are all part of a cyber reality there are steps. Estonia has enabled the first of these steps by issuing a person the first “supranational digital identity”. Perhaps this is what we need to combat trolls, scammers, and spammers; verified digital identities with digital responsibilities. The digital world is new and maturing, but we don’t know what it will grow up to become. Stay tuned.
