Global climate change is happening. Deniers deny that. The news typifies the schism as people who accept the change based on data and think something should be done versus people who deny the data and think there’s no reason to change. Reality is more complex. There is also a group that believes global climate change is happening, but that there’s no reason to change; because, you see, it is God’s will and they aren’t about to argue with God about God’s plan.
