What could possibly go wrong? We’re asking that question a lot, lately. For $9,420, you too can own a flame-throwing four-legged robot that can operate for an hour and can spew fire 30 feet, and be controlled wirelessly. Maybe the question is “What could go right”? The company lists several applications, but the ability to melt snow and ice remotely is one the few that seems generally practical. At that, if you’ve ever tried to melt snow and ice you may already know how difficult that can be. A shovel and some salt may be more controllable and cheaper. Stranger things have happened. Stranger things have been sold. Stranger stories are probably coming next.
