In America, the younger a person is, the more likely they are to be in deep poverty, poverty that is 50% below the poverty line. Unfortunately, the trend extends into the youngest children, where more than 12% of children under 6 are in deep poverty. Much of the problems with poverty are happening where people are less likely to see it, and happening to people who are less empowered to do anything about it.
