Solar concentraters and solar ovens are simple enough that many communities can build them with local talent and materials, therefore reducing the need for burning wood or buying petroleum products. Designs are being provided for free to free people. One benefit is the time saved. Solar energy delivers itself. No need to spend time searching for wood, cutting it down, carrying it back home, and then cutting and splitting it. Another benefit, no smoke – unless something is left in the solar oven too long.
