A cautionary tale about smart houses. When everything is connected, one thing can control everything, and that isn’t always good. The technology remains immature.
One pioneer hooked up everything in his house, except the locks. Sure enough, one failure crashed the house. Nothing malicious, just unintended. A light bulb burnt out and was so determined to make sure the rest of the house knew it that it overwhelmed the network and made everything stop. Connecting everything to everything enables incredible optimization, but it also puts everything at risk.
