Poll the world and find that we fear different things. Africans fear disease. The Middle Easterners fear hatred. Asians fear pollution. Europeans and Americans fear inequality. All of which are generalizations. Latin Americans fear nuclear weapons, but there are many people in other regions that fear nukes too. Hatred based on us versus them is certainly not confined the Middle East. Ask anyone in Ferguson. One good thing: If we find solutions to each of those fears, our diversity will mean we’ve made the world much better in many ways.
