Medical technology has accelerated phenomenally in the last few hundred years. Each discovery and advancement about germs, bacteria, viruses, hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, and exercise push back the threats to long life. Sometimes, though, the threats push back, especially when we accidentally train them to become more powerful. Antibiotics were a major advancement, but nature and our imperfections may have not only limited their useful time, but may have created a threat we can’t defend against.
