It may sound impossible, or at least counter-intuitive, but interest rates have gone below zero. Invest knowing you’ll get back less than you put in. Why would anyone do such a thing? Governments are dropping interest rates to encourage fluidity. Some institutions are required to invest rather than hold cash. Bank deposits are only insured up to a maximum, and some depositors want safe havens for larger amounts. Evidence that wealth is being concentrated and not contributing to the economy.
